The Hungarian Catering Trade Association, in memory of the work of restaurateur and gastronomic writer Károly Gundel – in collaboration with numerous partner organisations – is once again launching a call for entries for the Károly Gundel Award in 2025.

Those eligible for the award are individuals who have been active in the Hungarian hospitality sector for at least 25 years, having achieved outstanding success, have an impeccable professional track record and an exemplary personal history, cherish the historical traditions of the Hungarian hospitality industry and are committed to its renewal, supports the professional development of the younger generation, and contributes to the promotion of the Hungarian hospitality industry.

The award is open to the very best in the hospitality industry, with a maximum of three recipients each year.

Anyone may submit a nomination for the Károly Gundel Prize. To do so, you must complete the nomination form, which can be downloaded from the MVI website, and return it to the organisation’s address by midnight on 10 September 2025.

The award will be presented at a formal ceremony on 19 October 2025 during the MVI Gala Lunch at the Gundel restaurant; further details will be provided at a later date.
