Gundel was once not just a place to eat, but also a community meeting place and a venue where shared experiences were forged. This included Gypsy music, dancing and balls. The team at Gundel has decided that, alongside traditional gastronomy, they will bring back the joy of movement as a form of entertainment – and not just in any old way!

Traditions are being revived once again, specifically targeting the over-30s. The Gundel team is launching the evenings of music and dance series, on 23 April, on Wednesday.

During the programmes Andrea Keleti dancer Every evening, he teaches the basics of one dance to anyone who’s interested, whilst Zsolt Lukács, presenter guides guests through the mysteries of ballroom dancing and the history of dance. The evenings also serve as a sort of preparation, as With the aim of establishing a new tradition, Gundel will launch the first Gundel Ball next year, where participants in the summer programmes can now take to the dance floor with confidence.

Gundel is reviving the tradition of balls!

The first evening of music and dance On 23 April 2025, It will take place on Wednesday, and will continue on the last Wednesday of every month. The venue is the restaurant’s indoor dining area during the cooler months, whilst during the warmer months it moves to the beautiful Gundel Garden. On these dance evenings, music and dancing take centre stage alongside the cuisine, but there will be no special menu for these evenings; every guest is free to choose whatever they fancy from Gundel’s extensive menu. There will, however, be a band playing light dance music, a host and plenty of opportunities for couples to dance. And if anyone simply wants to watch the hustle and bustle, they are more than welcome to do so.

At our music and dance evenings, delightful live music sets the mood, whether it’s classic dance music or lighter tunes. On the dance floor, everyone can find their own rhythm, be it a lively waltz, a passionate tango or a relaxed swing.

To take part in this free programme, we simply recommend booking a table, but provided there is space available, Gundel is happy to welcome any guest who drops in.

Gundel was once not just a place to eat, but also a community meeting place and a setting where shared experiences were forged

[267
post-24092","sajto","type-sajto","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","publikacio-aktivpihenes
["GET
