The film is more than just entertainment.
There are scenes, phrases and figures that have been cherished by generations. The story of Gundel is much the same: for over 130 years, its walls have been the setting for gatherings, celebrations, encounters with artists and moments that last a lifetime.
Both hold memories.
Both tell stories.
Both create legends.
The 2027 Gundel Ball is therefore not a film ball. We will continue to tell the story of Gundel through the language of film.

The evening will focus on the 100th anniversary of Éva Ruttkai’s birth, as well as the stories of Zoltán Latinovits, István Bujtor and legendary artistic families.

Guests are greeted on arrival by a spectacular performance by the Mirror Men and a piano recital by the Gundel pianist.

Elegant live music and piano – Lili Fehér, Timi Arany, Balázs Kókai and Imre Rakonczai.

A film-inspired opening performance, debutantes and the Vegas Showband.
Wine Cellar
Blackjack and roulette reminiscent of casino films, as well as unique cinematic experiences – a cinema screen and a Sinbad scene featuring Vendelin.

Diamond Ticket · Premium Seat
A welcome drink, a five-course festive dinner, unlimited premium wine pairings and unlimited non-alcoholic drinks in the Queen Elizabeth Ballroom upstairs, the Andrássy Room, and the Zsolnay and Télikert-Szalon private rooms.
For those who wish to enjoy the evening from a prime spot close to the main events in the Ballroom.

The theme of this year’s ball centres on the magical world of film. Throughout the evening, Gundel’s classic elegance blends with the most iconic moments and visual worlds of film history — „The Home of Legends” was born from the convergence of culture and the Gundel legacy. Film becomes a shared language through which legendary stories, memories and generations are linked. And guests will not merely be spectators of this world – they too will become part of the story.
The official dress code for the Gundel Ball is Black Tie (tuxedos and black bow ties for gentlemen; floor-length evening gowns for ladies). In view of the exclusive nature of the event and its film theme, we ask that you adhere to the dress code, and we will be checking compliance upon entry.
Various categories of tickets and exclusive table-seating packages are available for the ball. We will publish details of what the tickets include (e.g. welcome drink, gala dinner, premium wine selection) on the website.

The exclusive gala dinner for the Gundel Ball was conceived by Gundel’s executive chef, Róbert Vérten, and our corporate chef, András Wolf. The menu is a fusion of traditional Hungarian haute cuisine and modern culinary trends, which fits perfectly with the evening’s film-themed programme.
Throughout the evening, renowned artists and surprise guests will provide entertainment, and the hosts will be well-known, prominent figures from the Hungarian cultural and film scenes. We will publish the detailed program and list of performers on our website shortly.
