Now this tradition returns - in a modern form, adapted to today's needs.
The first date of our "Music and Dance Evenings" series is Wednesday, 23 April 2025, 18:00-23:00.
On these evenings, all you have to do is enjoy yourself: choose from our a'la carte menu, sit back with a glass of wine, enjoy live music or get down on the dance floor and dance with us!
Entry is free but reservations are recommended, seating is limited - don't miss out on this experience!

During the evening, Andrea Keleti will teach light dance steps, while Zsolt Lukács will tell the exciting story of balls and dances. The evening will be accompanied by live music from the Holiday band.

Enjoy the a'la carte menu, where Gundel's classic dishes - such as the famous Gundel pancakes or chicken paprika - are accompanied by modern dishes. Available as 2, 3 and 4 course dinners, with a choice of wines recommended by the sommelier. The menu includes the special National 11, inspired by the recipe heritage of our founder, Károly Gundel, featuring iconic flavours of Hungarian cuisine, Gundel-style.

The Gundel Restaurant has always stood out on the map of gastronomic experiences and cultural values. Its iconic dishes - the world-famous Gundel pancakes or the masterfully prepared chicken paprika - have given our guests a taste experience that spans generations. Legends that are part of the history of Hungarian gastronomy were born within the historic walls. But now we are opening a new chapter.
The idea for the music and dance evenings was the shared dream of Gundel's management, and the whole team enthusiastically got behind it. We recognised that the over 30s today have few opportunities for truly elegant yet relaxed evenings of entertainment.
The result is a series of events where guests can not only enjoy dinner and music, but also learn, dance and connect with each other - making the evening a real experience.

The idea for the music and dance evenings came from an internal conversation: we wanted to bring back the social life that used to be a natural part of Gundel - music, dance, gastronomy, experience. It's not a one-off event, it's about building community, nurturing tradition and having fun."

What kind of show can we expect?
During dinner, live piano music will provide an intimate accompaniment, and then the evening will begin at 19:00: art historian Zsolt Lukács will introduce the world of ballroom culture, followed by the Holiday Band, while Andrea Keleti will entertain the audience with light and entertaining dance lessons.
How often do you have music and dance evenings?
Once a month, on the last Wednesday of every month, at dinner time. You can find the exact dates on our website, but you can also follow our social pages or subscribe to our newsletter for the latest information.
Does the price of the evening include dinner?
The event is free of charge, but reservations are required. Dinner can be chosen from the Gundel a'la carte menu , with 2, 3 or 4 courses - with optional wine recommended by the sommelier or signature cocktails.
Where can I buy a ticket?
No tickets are available, but reservations are required. Please arrive on time to fully enjoy the evening and to ensure a smooth start to the programme!
Can I make a reservation?
Yes, reservations are mandatory and can be done through our website.
Is there a dress code for events?
Yes, we suggest a smart, casual look to match the mood of the evening. The venue is representative, the programme is special.
Is parking available?
The Gundel does not have its own parking. Public parking is available in the area and is charged until 20:00 with the zone code 1144.
When I should you arrive?
The evenings start at 18:00. It is recommended to arrive at this time to be seated comfortably and enjoy dinner and music.
Can I take part in the dance if I am a beginner?
Igen! Dance classes are open to all. With Andrea Keleti's help, beginners can easily join in - the goal is good vibes, not perfect steps.
What kind of dinner is on offer at the music and dance evening?
