On Friday – one day before the 140th anniversary of Károly Gundel’s birth – the Hungarian Catering Trade Association held its traditional Awards Committee meeting: this year marked the 10th time the industry has selected the recipients of the Károly Gundel Award.
The 18-member committee selected, from a shortlist of nine nominees, the person it deemed most deserving this year of the award, also known as the profession’s Kossuth Prize.
The Awards Committee has awarded the 2023 Károly Gundel Prize to Katalin Pintér (owner of the Gerbeaud, Onyx and Émile restaurants) and Sándor Nyíri (co-owner of the Arany Kaviár, MoszkvaTér and Bisztró restaurants).
The award will be presented at the MVI Gala Lunch, which will take place at noon on Sunday 15 October at the Gundel Restaurant.
