Barbara Angelus is joining the revamped Gundel Restaurant team, having gained experience in establishing several five-star hotel brands in Hungary.
At the start of her career, Barbara Angelus worked on city and national marketing at the Budapest Tourist Office and subsequently at Magyar Turizmus Rt. Since the early 2000s, she has specialised in hotel branding, including at the Parádsasvár Castle Hotel, Hertelendy Castle, the Buddha-Bar Hotel Budapest Klotild Palace and the Maison Bistro & Hotel in Buda Castle, where she was responsible for market launch and communications. She has been sharing her professional experience with the next generation for many years; she teaches tourism marketing and personal branding at the Department of Tourism at Kodolányi János College, and was a contributor to the tourism marketing textbook published by Akadémiai Kiadó.
According to a statement from the Danubius Hotels Group, which owns the restaurant, Peter Knoll, the managing director of Gundel Restaurant who was appointed six months ago, is further strengthening his team with the appointment of a new marketing and communications specialist; the team also includes Zsolt Litauszki, the Executive Chef who was appointed a few months ago. The hotel group’s aim is, with the help of the new management, to transform the legendary City Park restaurant into a 21st-century establishment whilst preserving its traditions.
