Zsolt Liptai was named Winemaker of the Year in 2024. The Hungarian Wine Academy has been awarding this title since 1991 to the winemaker who has demonstrated outstanding performance over several years, whose wines are of consistently excellent quality, and whose wines have enjoyed success both at home and abroad.

At the awards ceremony held in the wine cellar of the Gundel restaurant, it was announced that: the title does not simply recognise the outstanding quality of a single wine, but is awarded in recognition of a wine producer’s outstanding performance over many years, the consistently high quality of their wines, and their success both at home and abroad. The award is the most prestigious domestic honour that Hungarian winemakers can receive.
