Our restaurant preserves the heritage of Hungarian cuisine, with more than 140 Hungarian dishes created by the Gundel family. The most famous dishes that form the basis of today's Hungarian cuisine were born here, such as Palóc soup, Újházi chicken soup, Goulash soup, Chicken with paprika, Somló sponge cake, Rákóczi cottage cheese and the world-famous Gundel pancakes. Our guests come from all over the world to taste the authentic Hungarian flavours.

Our special group activity will give participants a deeper insight into the world of wines, cheeses and chocolates, and an interactive blind tasting session to discover the harmony of different flavours or enjoy cooking together.
Group Programmes - Gastronomic Adventures - For groups of minimum 15 people - 1,5-2 hours duration
Group Activity - Playful - Interactive Blind Taster Programme
During these programmes, our guests can discover the harmony, character and texture of different flavours. During the event, participants can taste 4-5-6 special wines under the guidance of Mihály Fabók, three times Hungarian Sommelier Champion, and learn about the characteristics, flavours and history of the wines.
During the tasting you can choose between two categories Standard and Premium. This programme is ideal for wine lovers who want to deepen their knowledge and enjoy the world of wine in a fun and interactive environment.
Group Activity - Wine and Cheese Tasting Programme
During the event, special cheese selections and perfectly matched excellent wines will provide a rich gastronomic experience.
During the programme, you can taste 4-5-6 different wines and a special selection of cheeses to make your culinary experience even more enjoyable.
The presentation, led by Mihály Fabók, three times Hungarian Sommelier Champion, will be available in two categories, Standard and Premium.
Group Activity - Wine Tasting and Chocolate Tasting Programme
During the event, the presentation of premium chocolates and wines perfectly matched in two categories will be led by Mihály Fabók, three-time Hungarian Sommelier Champion. Special attention will be paid to the characteristics and flavour notes of the 4-5-6 special wines, the aroma and character of the chocolate, so that guests can gain a deeper insight into the harmony of flavours and enjoy an unforgettable experience.

Our two or three course menu is the ideal choice for a quick yet hearty meal.
The two-course menu includes a soup and a dessert, which you can choose according to your taste.
The three-course menu includes a soup, a main course and a dessert, but you can also swap them for another soup or main course for an extra charge.
If you wish, you can replace the soup with an appetizer or even ask for it as an extra course.

A Hungarian selection with traditional flavours and a light, tasty vegetarian selection for those who prefer vegetarian dishes.
Our special group activity will give participants a deeper insight into the world of wines, cheeses and chocolates, and an interactive blind tasting session to discover the harmony of different flavours or enjoy cooking together.

As part of group reservations, we offer a brief taste of the magic of traditional gypsy music in 10-minute segments every hour to make the programme even more memorable.
The international piano music creates an atmosphere of elegance and tranquillity, the ideal setting for dining and enjoying wine.
And acoustic guitar melodies create a pleasant, welcoming atmosphere.
Gypsy music is provided in blocks of 10 minutes per hour, but additional music can be requested throughout the programme. Please let us know in advance if you would like to have a longer music show, so that we can adjust the programme accordingly.

The historic cellar, which has been open since 1894, has been revived with a modern concept that brings Gundel's gastronomy
and delicious signature wines. Our award-winning Sommelier carefully selects the finest Hungarian wines to give our guests a memorable experience.
